We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Designer focused on Exterior Concept and Vehicle Architecture. In this role, you will strengthen early-phase and production design capability and help shape future vehicles by ensuring alignment between creative intent, engineering feasibility, and global program needs.

You will work in a cross-cultural environment with close collaboration between teams in Sweden and China. The position is central to several strategic exterior design programs and combines hands-on design leadership with executive-level communication.

• Lead exterior ideation and concept development for advanced and production programs.
• Define strong proportions, form language, and conceptual directions aligned with the design identity.
• Create and deliver structured presentations for senior stakeholders across Sweden and China.
• Drive clear communication and alignment of decisions across time zones and cultures.
• Collaborate with Studio Engineering, Vehicle Architecture, Platform, and CAS teams to align design intent with technical constraints.
• Support concept-stage package development, including key volumes, ergonomic considerations, and section strategies.
• Assess feasibility across areas such as BIW, powertrain layouts, battery placement, ADAS packaging, aerodynamics, cooling, and lighting systems.
• Provide on-site leadership for exterior design team members and guide designers across seniority levels toward consistent design quality.
• Coordinate closely with CAS, Alias, Blender, and physical model teams to ensure accurate translation from 2D to 3D.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, and executive presentations with stakeholders in China as needed.

• 20+ years of experience in automotive design, including exterior design, advanced concept development, and vehicle architecture work.
• International experience from OEMs and/or advanced design studios.
• Proven ability to lead early-phase design work and present at executive level.
• Deep understanding of vehicle packaging, BIW structures, mechanical layouts, aerodynamics, ergonomics, and EV platform requirements.
• Ability to guide Clay and CAS/A-class surface development in collaboration with modeling teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Photoshop, Alias, Blender, and V-Red.

• Mandarin language proficiency.
• Familiarity with HMI/UI/UX integration.
• Experience working with lighting engineering and cross-disciplinary workflows.
