The Norwegian Medical Products Agency (NOMA) is responsible for ensuring rapid and equitable access to effective medicinal products and medical devices. We monitor safety and contribute to the correct use of these products. Furthermore, we support research and innovation. NOMA is responsible for national supply security and preparedness for medical products.
NOMA operates under the authority of the Ministry of Health and Care Services and has approximately 400 employees.
We are seeking an Adviser / Senior Adviser for a permanent position as an assessor within pharmacokinetics in the area of medicinal product evaluation.

The area of medicinal product evaluation is responsible for the approval of clinical trials and marketing authorisations for medicinal products for both human and veterinary use. These tasks are highly prioritised and constitute a central part of NOMA's future focus. The work is crucial to ensuring that medicinal products used in Norway are safe, effective, and supported by robust documentation. Our goal is to ensure that patients gain access to new medicines as quickly as possible.
To achieve this, we actively participate in European regulatory collaboration, contributing scientific assessments and participating in committees and working groups at the EU level. Through this work, we support Europe's focus on innovation with the aim of strengthening the EU's attractiveness and pace of innovation.
The area consists of 85 highly qualified employees, and we are now seeking a new colleague with expertise in pharmacokinetics-a field that plays a key role in the development of future medicinal therapies. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the further development of this important discipline.
About the position:
As an assessor within pharmacokinetics, your responsibilities will include evaluation of medicinal products' pharmacological properties, drug-drug interactions, ADME characteristics (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion), population models, and statistical analyses of pharmacokinetic data.
You will become part of an engaged and interdisciplinary working environment with highly skilled colleagues. The tasks are varied, challenging, and professionally stimulating.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics sections of clinical and preclinical documentation in applications for clinical trials and marketing authorisations
- Participate in national and international scientific advice related to clinical studies and applications for marketing authorisation
- Prepare assessment reports in English
- Take responsibility for, participate in, and contribute to NOMA's professional development
- Other relevant tasks may be assigned
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
- phD in pharmacology or pharmacokinetics, or a Master's degree in pharmacokinetics
- Candidates with relevant experience in pharmacokinetics, population modelling, or statistical modelling may also be considered
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience for the position of Senior Adviser
- Strong oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English
Preferred qualifications:
- Expertise in pharmacometrics (population modelling) or experience with statistical analyses of pharmacokinetic data using mixed-effects models
- Experience with drug-drug interactions
- Experience in preparing and/or evaluating clinical documentation
- Knowledge of personalised dosing of medicinal products (therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacogenetics, etc.)
- Familiarity with medicinal product regulation and European approval procedures
- Digital competence and interest in adopting new technology and artificial intelligence

Salary:
The position will be classified as either:
- Adviser (job code 1434): salary range NOK 586,000-777,000 gross per year, or
- Senior Adviser (job code 1364): salary range NOK 708,000-966,000 gross per year
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required for the Senior Adviser position, usually combined with a Master's degree. Higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified candidates.
