About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Management Engineer with a strong focus on climate and thermal control systems. In this role, you will be a key contributor within the Energy Management team, responsible for the development, integration, calibration, and verification of climate control software. You will collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure optimal climate and thermal system performance and energy efficiency, directly contributing to next-generation vehicle products.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, integrate, calibrate, and verify climate and thermal control software
Ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency of HVAC and thermal management systems
Analyze and resolve complex software issues related to functionality, performance, and system integration
Design and develop control algorithms using model-based development methodologies
Perform software calibration using industry-standard tools and methods
Conduct function validation, bench testing, and road testing
Take ownership of end-to-end performance of assigned climate functions
Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, testing, and product teams
Support continuous improvement of software quality and development processes
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Control Systems, Vehicle Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field
5+ years of relevant automotive industry experience within climate and thermal systems
Strong domain knowledge of climate and thermal systems, including HVAC, battery cooling, and powertrain cooling
Solid understanding of control theory, including PID control and state machines
Proven experience in Model-Based Development using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, including auto-code generation via Embedded Coder
Embedded software development experience in C/C++
Experience analyzing and resolving complex software issues related to functionality, performance, and integration
Experience with software calibration tools such as INCA and CANape
Hands-on experience with function validation, bench testing, and road testing
Knowledge of software development processes and quality assurance practices
Valid Driver’s License (Category B) with experience in vehicle testing and subjective evaluation
Proficient communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a function owner approach
Collaborative, open, and comfortable working in cross-functional and international environments
Ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Curious, innovative, and motivated to explore and benchmark new technologies and control concepts
