Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for an urgent assignment with immediate start.

This role is 100% on-site in Linköping and focuses on mechanical design and development of turbine systems and related components. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.

What you will work on:

• Create detailed 3D models, CAD designs, and assembly drawings for turbine systems and mechanical components
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance targets and functional requirements
• Work closely with structural engineers to optimize mechanical strength, durability, and reliability
• Prepare designs for prototyping, testing, and production
• Support design reviews and update designs based on test results and feedback
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-efficient, and optimized for ease of assembly
• Consider manufacturing constraints, materials, and tolerances in all design work

What you bring:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a closely related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design with strong CAD skills
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar
• Experience in product design; background in marine systems is considered a plus
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis, thermal performance, and materials
• Experience designing rotating mechanical systems, such as gearboxes, shafts, bearings, and related components
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce manufacturable, production-ready designs
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and clearly communicate design solutions
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English
• Strong motivation to learn and actively contribute to product development
