Position Overview:

We're seeking a motivated Backend Developer, perfect for students or recent graduates to join our team on a part-time basis. This role lets you work flexibly alongside your studies or another job, while earning a competitive salary. You'll contribute to building an advanced Analytics product using AWS services and tools, specifically Amazon Quick Suite. This is a great entry point into a high-growth tech company, where you can gain hands-on experience and grow your skills.

Responsibilities:

Connect the data source in Quick Suite

Set up the existing AWS data source (e.g., Amazon Redshift, for transactional data). Provide connection details like credentials, VPC settings if needed, and test the connection to ensure secure access to the transactional dataset.

Create or prepare a dataset

Build a dataset from the connected source by selecting relevant tables or queries containing transactional data. Apply data preparation steps, such as filtering rows, joining with other sources if needed, adding calculated fields, or transforming data for analysis.

Import data or configure query mode

Choose to import transactional data into SPICE (Quick Suite's in-memory engine) for faster performance and offline analysis, or use direct query mode for real-time access. Schedule refreshes if using SPICE to keep reports updated with the latest transactions.

Build visualizations and analyses

Create an analysis by adding visuals (charts, tables, KPIs) based on the transactional data. Use drag-and-drop to aggregate metrics (e.g., sales totals, trends over time), apply filters, parameters, drill-downs, or ML-powered insights for deeper analytics.

Publish and share dashboards/reports

Publish the analysis as an interactive dashboard or paginated report. Configure sharing options, row/column-level security, emailed schedules, or embeddings, allowing stakeholders to explore transactional insights securely.

Qualifications:

• Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent self-taught experience).
• Some experience or coursework in backend development—fintech, e-commerce, or startup exposure is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of Golang or willingness to learn it quickly.
• Interest in cloud services like AWS.
• Understanding of data security basics.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a eager, proactive mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Any exposure to payment systems, financial integrations, or analytics tools.
• Basic knowledge of front-end tech (JavaScript, React) for occasional support.
• Interest in tools like Postgres, Golang, Python, Docker, AWS, or React.
