Your Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and verification of complex ship systems throughout their full lifecycle. You may act as a System Lead Engineer or a key systems engineer within larger programs, depending on the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, integrate and maintain complex ship propulsion and power systems and subsystems
* Participate in drivetrain and system integration across multiple suppliers and disciplines
* Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation
* Engage in procurement activities and supplier dialogue, including various acceptance tests
* Perform or oversee system analyses, simulations, and risk assessments
* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, shipyards, suppliers, and authorities
* Review system designs and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, methods, and tools
* Share knowledge generously and help strengthen the team's collective competence
Your Profile
We're looking for a professional and curious engineer with strong system-level thinking and a growth mindset. You should be comfortable working across disciplines, adapting to changes, and demonstrating technical leadership.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Process Industry Systems Engineering, or equivalent
* Experience in system design, integration, or product development within naval, defence, or similarly complex technical environments
* Solid understanding of powertrains, mechanical, electrical, and control systems integration
* Familiarity with product development processes, procurement, and technical negotiations
* Fluent in technical Swedish and English, spoken and written
* Swedish driving license (B) or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience with requirements, classification rules, and military or regulated standards
* Proficiency in modern engineering tools, such as AVEVA Suite, CREO, IBM DOORS, and MS Office
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
