We are looking for a driven and experienced Quality & Test Manager to lead and structure our quality test strategy and testing framework. In this role, you will work closely with all parts of our technology organization: our software development teams (Development), focusing on product coding and software solutions, and our innovation team (Research), specializing in algorithm engineering and advanced technology exploration.

You will be responsible for quality assurance and testing strategies across both these areas, ensuring that our processes and deliverables consistently meet high standards, as we are changing the world of sound.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Dirac’s software products by developing and implementing effective test strategies. You will oversee the entire testing process, from planning and execution to analysis and continuous improvement. You will set goals, coordinate activities, and ensure alignment across development teams. Additionally, you will act as the key contact for test strategies, quality assurance, and issue resolution.

The role, reporting directly to the Head of R&D, involves collaborating with other stakeholders, such as the QMS Manager, Product Managers, Technology Managers, Engineers, Configuration Manager, Customer Project Managers, and Business Analysts, to ensure that the SW test quality strategy aligns with R&D goals and objectives. This role requires an individual that can handle both strategic and operational aspects of the role, balancing long-term vision with day-to-day tasks.

Main responsibilities:

• Test Strategies - Ensure test plans and test strategies are prepared, and test systems are established to ensure the Dirac final software product is of high quality for our customers.
• Quality Assurance - Continuously identify areas for improvement and enforce the defined quality test standards throughout the development life cycle. Collect and analyse quality data, report results for process improvements, and monitor process KPIs.
• Build, establish, and manage the virtual R&D Testing Team - Recruit and set up the team, define clear goals, and lead the team members whose daily work is integrated into Dirac’s various development teams.
• Stakeholder Management - Act as the point of contact for addressing test strategies, quality assurance, issue handling, and test team assignments. Ensure that all parties involved in the testing process understand what was done and why.
• Test framework and Documentation - Deploy test management tools and stay updated on testing methods and standards, ensure relevant tests are conducted, documented and recorded according to ISO 9001 and ASPICE.

Who You Are

You are detail-oriented and analytical, with expertise in software testing, debugging, and automation. Your leadership skills enable effective team collaboration, though you also excel independently. Familiar with Agile methodologies and driven by continuous improvement, you quickly adapt to dynamic environments and have a solid commercial understanding.

Qualifications:

• University degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering
• Several years of experience in a similar role and proven experience working within an international SW organization
• Minimum 5 years of experience with ISO 9001 compliancy and audits
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with agile SW development, software testing, including familiarity with automated testing tools, performance testing, and security testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and presenting data-driven insights to stakeholders
• Experience with Risk Management, Requirement management, and Stakeholder Management.
• Proven track record when it comes to the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues quickly and efficiently

Desired qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with ASPICE practices, frameworks, tools, and on how to streamline testing activities
• Specialized certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), CSTE (Certified Software Tester), and CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineer)
• Experience with both B2B and B2C SW products
• Experience in defining and implementing processes according to ISO 9001 and ASPICE L2
• Certified Scrum Master or similar
• Interest for audio, and experience setting up audio systems for recording and mixing audio

Location   

Your main location will be at Dirac’s headquarters in central Uppsala, Sweden, thus living with commuting distance to Uppsala is an advantage. Some travelling to other R&D sites may be required.
