The opportunity

As Contract Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of contract management from tendering phase to the final execution of the project.
Your communications and collaboration skills will come to hand while working with local teams, suppliers, and customers.
The Power Transformers unit in Ludvika is one of Hitachi Energy’s largest transformer factories where we engineer, design and manufacture a comprehensive portfolio that includes large power transformers, variable and fixed shunt reactors for the global market.

This position is based in Ludvika and we offer flexible work-from-home options.
You will report directly to the Head of Project Management.
How you’ll make an impact
- Oversee all aspects of contract management from the tendering phase through project execution, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Project Managers on contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle, supporting decision-making and safeguarding company interests.
- Analyze commercial and technical clauses, recommend improvements, and participate in negotiations to secure favourable outcomes and minimize risks.
- Conduct thorough contract analysis to highlight potential risks and opportunities, and collaborate with project and sales teams to develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and manage claims, counterclaims, and defence strategies in close cooperation with legal and project teams to protect contractual rights and entitlements.
- Draft contractual amendments, prepare summaries for project teams, and ensure smooth handovers between Sales and Project Management for seamless execution.
- Create templates, guidelines, and deliver training sessions on contractual topics to enhance knowledge and efficiency across the organization.
- Provide contractual support to procurement, transport, and engineering departments, ensuring alignment with global agreements and compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist and support other functions (procurement, transport etc.) within Power Transformers on contractual matters in close collaboration with the legal function.
Your background
- Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in law (preferred) or other relevant Degree in business or engineering with minimum 5 years experience in Contract Management.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts.
- Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
- Independent, detail-oriented, and skilled at analyzing information and structuring work with stakeholders.
- Ability to create and communicate/present precise contract analyses, even under time pressure.
