The artistic director of the Royal Swedish Opera Tobias Theorell and Chorus master Jori Klomp invites to audition.
Royal Swedish Opera Chorus is Sweden's largest professional choir, but also one of the world's oldest, with a history dating back to 1773. The choir consists of 54 full-time choristers who participate in the vast majority of opera productions given at the Opera during a season.
The Royal Swedish Opera Chorus is looking for Tenor 1 and Tenor 2 for the season 2026/2027.
Your profile
A music or opera college education or documented experience as an opera chorister in musical theatre is a requirement.
Audition
The audition will take place on Sunday the 15th of March 2025, by personal invitation.
The following preparations are made for the audition:
An obligatory aria a Chorus excerpt and one Ensemble. Chorus excerpt and ensemble are sent by invitation.

Tenor 1
Un aura amorosa (Così fan tutte)
Che gelida manina (La Bohème)
Pourqoui me reveiller (Werther)
Tenor 2
Dies Bildnis (Die Zauberflöte)
Kuda, kuda (Eugene Onegin)
De' miei bollenti spiriti (La Traviata)
Your application
Registration is done via the Royal Swedish Opera's website no later than 15th of February 2026.
Your application must be accompanied by CV, an attached mp3 sound file and a photograph. The mp3 sound file and the photo is uploaded in the section "Other documents".
