The opportunity

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Citrix Platform Design and Support Professional to join our dynamic team. This role involves the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our critical Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and associated Citrix cluster infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for our global user base.

How you’ll make an impact

• Design, architect, and implement robust and scalable Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) solutions, including StoreFront, NetScaler (ADC), Provisioning Services (PVS), Machine Creation Services (MCS), and Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex Citrix-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and application delivery failures.
• Manage and maintain the entire Citrix infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, and configuration changes, adhering to best practices and security policies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the Citrix environment, including design specifications, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., network, server, security) to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the Citrix platform.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent service disruptions

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops & Thin client environments (formerly XenApp/XenDesktop).
• Proficiency in configuring UMS. Testing and updating a Citrix cluster, license management.
• Strong expertise in Citrix NetScaler (ADC) for load balancing, gateway services, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and management of Citrix environments.
