Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior CAD Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Collect, review, and analyze customer-provided cab data, including CAD models, wiring harness layouts, and routing and installation constraints
- Develop an ECU Mechanical Design Specification as input to the ECU technical requirements documentation
- Define the ECU mechanical envelope, including overall dimensions and boundary conditions
- Design mounting, clamping, and installation concepts suitable for truck cab environments
- Establish installation guidelines, constraints, and serviceability considerations
- Make and document assumptions regarding connector types, orientation, header height, clearances, and interface requirements
- Ensure compatibility with customer cab constraints, wiring routing, and maintenance access
- Address variability across different customers and define standardized mechanical solutions where possible
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust mechanical integration and alignment with system requirements
What you bring:
- Experience as a CAD Design Engineer with a strong focus on ECU mechanical integration
- Solid background in mechanical design within automotive or commercial vehicle environments
- Proven experience working with CAD models, packaging studies, and installation constraints
- Good understanding of wiring harness integration, connectors, and serviceability requirements
- Ability to make structured assumptions and translate incomplete inputs into well-documented design solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage design trade-offs and create solutions that work across multiple customer variants
- Clear communication skills and experience documenting design specifications and boundary conditions
