Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior R&D Verification/Validation Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Plan, develop and maintain test specifications based on product and system requirements for protection and control products such as the Relion 670/650 series
• Configure products and systems according to specifications and applicable substation automation standards
• Build and maintain complete test setups including auxiliary equipment, wiring, configuration and supervision
• Automate test cases where feasible to improve efficiency and repeatability
• Execute verification and validation tests throughout the R&D development cycle
• Document and report test results with clarity and accuracy to relevant stakeholders
• Ensure electrical safety and compliance during all test activities
• Collaborate with a team of test engineers and a test lead to secure high-quality product releases

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical field
• Solid knowledge of substation automation concepts, architectures and standards such as IEC 61850
• Good understanding of communication protocols and systems used in substation environments
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience working with protection relays and/or substation automation systems
• Ability to work on-site in Västerås and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English
• Strong analytical mindset, structured working approach and capability to manage complex test environments
• Experience in test automation and familiarity with electrical safety practices is an advantage
