Company Description
At IKEA, we’re proud of our values and committed to living them every day.
We believe in creating an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered, and inspired to make a difference.
As part of our team, you’ll be welcomed into a global, purpose-driven organisation that puts people and the planet first and encourages every individual to reach their full potential.
Job Description
As Category Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a global category with vision, strategy, and compassion.
You’ll help shape the future of how we source, develop, and deliver carbon steel – all while championing an environment where everyone can contribute, build trusted relationships, and play a part in a more sustainable IKEA.
Your assignment will include:
- Leading the category – from strategy through to execution – in collaboration with colleagues from IKEA’s Home Furnishing and Components businesses.
- Developing and implementing the Category Business Plan, ensuring alignment with IKEA’s long-term goals and commitment to sustainability.
- Building and guiding high-performing, inclusive teams, nurturing individual strengths and fostering a culture where growth, trust, and togetherness are valued.
- Driving innovation in materials and production techniques to reduce cost and CO₂ emissions, supporting IKEA’s sustainability journey.
- Strengthening supplier relationships through transparency, shared objectives, and a focus on long-term progress.
Qualifications
- We value a wide range of experiences and perspectives, and welcome applicants who bring a deep understanding of IKEA’s business model, purchasing strategy, and value chain, or who are keen to learn and grow in these areas.
- Your background may include experience in procurement, supplier development, or business leadership—whatever your journey, we appreciate the unique strengths you contribute.
- We’re looking for strong analytical skills and the ability to use facts and insights to lead, but we also recognise the value of new approaches and different ways of thinking.
- If you have a passion for developing people and business, delivering sustainable results, championing innovation, and making a real difference, you’ll find a supportive environment here.
- We believe collaboration and trust are built by embracing diverse perspectives and identities, and we encourage you to help us shape a culture where everyone can thrive.
- Whether you have experience leading leaders and developing people in a global or remote setting, or are eager to take this next step, we’re interested in hearing your story.
- If you feel a connection to IKEA’s values and wish to bring them to life in your own way, we invite you to join us and help us grow together.
