ALTEN is looking for a System Engineer to one of our major automotive clients in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for charging functionality development and design on vehicle level within the 600V electrical domain. ABOUT THE ROLE You will be part of a skilled and collaborative team of engineers working across system, wiring, packaging, and electrical architecture for electric vehicles. Your main responsibility will be to develop, integrate, and optimize the vehicle’s charging functionality — ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient energy transfer between the vehicle and the charging infrastructure. You will work cross-functionally with software, electrical, and hardware engineers to define system topology, communication interfaces, and integration strategies for the 600V system. The role requires solid understanding of ECU communication, system engineering principles, and vehicle electrical architecture. YOUR PROFILE You are a structured and solution-oriented engineer with a genuine passion for vehicle electrification and system development. You thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment, where technology and teamwork go hand in hand. We believe you have: • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field. • Experience working with high-voltage systems (600V) in automotive applications. • Strong knowledge of electrical topology, architecture, and ECU communication (CAN, LIN, or Ethernet). • Ability to interpret and translate system requirements into robust technical solutions. • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
