Managing Director & Production Manager – Outokumpu Press Plate, Avesta

Outokumpu Press Plate in Avesta is recruiting for a combined Managing Director & Production Manager role to lead a small but highly specialized team. About Press Plate

Press Plate is one of two subsidiaries within Outokumpu Avesta. We make customized press plates, ready-to-use plates for the hardboard industry and semi-finished plates for the laminate industry. All manufacturing is customer-driven, which places high demands on precision, safety and quality. We are 24 employees working closely together through all steps of production. This creates a strong team spirit, short decision paths and good opportunities for development.

Your responsibilities

As Managing Director & Production Manager you are responsible for the whole company – both daily operations and long-term development. Safety, quality and efficiency are always at the center of your work.

You will:

• Make sure health, safety and environmental work is always a top priority
• Take full responsibility for the company’s finances (P&L)
• Lead and develop the team, ensuring the right skills are in place
• Oversee production and keep things running smoothly
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (14001:2015 and 9001:2015), current laws and relevant regulations
• Act on board directives and turn them into concrete actions
• Drive improvements and development of the company

This is a role where leadership meets hands-on responsibility – and where your decisions directly shape the future of Press Plate.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys leading people and making things happen. You are comfortable in a smaller organization where flexibility and quick decisions are part of everyday life.

You bring:

• A degree in engineering or finance, or equivalent experience
• Experience in leadership and people management
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
• Experience from stainless steel or engineering industry
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and basic knowledge of LEAN
• The ability to lead according to Outokumpu’s leadership principles and cooperate across the group

Above all, you are structured, analytical and safety-focused – with the ability to see situations from different perspectives and act with reliability and accuracy.
