Assignment Description

Our Client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the BI & Analytics project. You will be part of a global team with colleagues in Sweden and India, working closely with business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

This role requires a technically strong engineer who is also communicative, proactive, and comfortable working in an agile environment. You will be involved throughout the entire data lifecycle—from requirements and modeling to development, deployment, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines for processing and transforming data
• Work hands-on in the Databricks environment
• Set up and manage Azure DevOps from end to end (pipelines, releases, deployments, hotfixes)
• Perform data modeling and support BI initiatives
• Develop solutions using SQL, Python, PySpark, scripting
• Use Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, and cluster management
• Collaborate with global teams in an agile setting
• Share knowledge and support colleagues
• Manage multiple projects in parallel
• Work on-site at the Gothenburg office

Required Skills – Must Have

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering
• Proven experience independently building data pipelines
• Strong experience setting up and configuring Azure DevOps from scratch
• Hands-on experience working in Databricks
• Excellent coding skills: SQL, Python, PySpark, scripts
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, clusters
• 5+ years of experience in BI projects, including data modeling and business understanding
• Agile mindset and strong communication skills
• Experience with Git and DevOps practices
• Team player with strong collaboration skills
• Ability to work on-site in Gothenburg
• Fluent in English
• Nice to Have
• Ability to conduct hands-on upskilling sessions
• Automation experienc
• Shell scripting
• Power BI experience
