Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Method Engineer – Diagnostics (Automotive) to join our dynamic team.
What You Will Work On
- Define and develop service information for ECUs and their components, including DTCs, circuits, calibrations, parameters, signals, and user function descriptions
- Take ownership of diagnostics software development, including GUI, content, front-end, back-end, and architectural responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to workshop mechanics and assist in real-world troubleshooting scenarios
- Conduct deep-dive system analysis and document results in Service-FMEA reports
- Define, document, and follow up on diagnostic-related requirements for ECUs to ensure implementation and compliance
- Work with live vehicle control bus systems (VCB) and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
- Apply deep technical knowledge in gearbox systems, diesel and gas engines, aftertreatment systems, batteries, and overall vehicle architecture
- Support and deliver training to Global and Local Technical Support, Academy teams, and R&D, including troubleshooting workshops
- Review technical documentation from R&D such as system descriptions, hardware specifications, schematics, quality assurance, and assignment directives
- Design and build custom test rigs including ECUs and other relevant components
- Act as product coordinator in OAS, developing and maintaining structured data
- Use advanced diagnostic and R&D tools such as XCOM, CDEV, Gadget, and Candela regularly
- Design and produce special diagnostic tools including module balancers, adapter cables, and external sensor kits
What You Bring
- Solid experience in diagnostics method development within the automotive industry
- Strong software development skills across multiple layers (frontend, backend, GUI, architecture)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and document findings clearly
- In-depth knowledge of ECUs, vehicle control systems, and component interaction
- Familiarity with tools like XCOM, CDEV, Gadget, and Candela
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and support cross-functional teams
- Hands-on approach to designing tools and building testing setups
- Fluent in English; Swedish language skills are meritorious
- Background in vehicle system engineering, electrical systems, or similar technical fields is highly beneficial
