Role Overview:

As an Application Database Specialist, you will be part of a team dedicated to managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases both on AWS cloud and on-premises. Your responsibilities will include daily operations, tuning, capacity planning, and consolidation. You will also participate in SQL development for new enhancements and support runtime activities with the product development team. Additionally, you will collaborate with various projects to understand their database needs and guide them towards suitable solutions, working closely with the Domain Architect to create and secure new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management:
• Oversee PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases in production environments.
• Perform daily operations, tuning, capacity planning, and consolidation.
• Manage databases on AWS and on-premises.
• Development and Support:
• Engage in SQL development for new enhancements.
• Support runtime activities with the product development team.
• Provide guidance to projects regarding database needs and solutions.
• Collaboration:
• Work with the Domain Architect to create new solutions.
• Ensure secure delivery of database solutions.

Your Profile:

• Experience:
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL in production.
• Experience with MongoDB databases.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud engineering and AWS CI/CD tools.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Programming skills in Python or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools beyond CloudWatch is advantageous.
• Additional Skills:
• Ability to work independently and drive activities.
• Development experience in the database area is a plus.
• Experience in implementing changes to larger database environments.
• Handling on-call support.
