We are looking for a Business Health, Safety, & Environment Manager within Power Quality Solutions team that will be responsible to drive a first-class implementation of Hitachi Energy’s HSE targets within our organization, towards our customers and stakeholders.
We are a project business that executes projects globally, which will mean sporadic travelling.
You will have one direct report in your team plus support from our operating center in India.
You will work in a global business and travels will occur.
As HSE Manager for Power Quality you will be part of the Management Team and report to the Manger of Power Quality.
How you’ll make an impact
- You will develop and initiate implementation of Hitachi Energy’s HSE standards, practices, procedures, tools within Power Quality.
You will initiate and support the implementation of said initiatives, in the Power Quality team.
- Drive behavioral change through implementing group-wide performance improvement programs and practices to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture, as well as a strong focus on environment throughout the organization in alignment with business unit and division initiatives.
- Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety, integrity and quality, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
- Ensure HSE support to relevant parts of the business, such as in tenders, projects as well as fixed infrastructure like test facilities to ensure manageable risk exposure.
- You will be responsible for investigations of HSE including feedback on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across the community towards management and employees.
- Drive and support the unit’s sustainability strategy and give input the the company’s strategies.
Your background
- To succeed in this role, it is crucial that you have previous experience in or are currently working with HSE.
Perhaps in the building and construction sector or project business in the energy sector like ours, with good experience and understanding of the safety issues in construction sites.
- You have and ability to both develop and drive the strategic agenda as well as drive the day-to-day work
- You enjoy leading, motivating and developing people, and are used to building strong relationships and cooperation with other stakeholders.
- You are a strong communicator with ability to communicate beyond your own organizational responsibilities
- To communicate in English is essential for this position and fluency (oral & written).
Swedish would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the Swedish work environment law/electrical safety is a very big plus
- You hold bachelor's or master's degree in engineering/EHS/OHS and has 5-10 years working with HSE, although experience from a similar role and your personal qualities are more important than an academic degree.
