Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Optical Design Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Serve as the main technical interface for RA Optical Systems in customer-facing meetings, supporting Application Project teams with optical design expertise
- Lead and coordinate customer-specific technical investigations and optical design projects, collaborating with internal Core expert teams
- Provide technical clarifications and support regarding camera Assumptions of Use (AoU), ensuring accurate installations and performance in vehicles
- Assist with customer-specific design reviews, resolving technical inquiries, and coordinating with OEMs, Tier-1s, and Tier-2s
- Maintain and update project documentation, including technical specifications, camera AoUs, and agreements with Tier-1 suppliers
- Provide post-RFQ support, including troubleshooting, addressing customer inquiries, and optimizing design solutions
- Ensure relevant work packages (Epics) from Application Projects are integrated into the RA Optical Systems backlog
What you bring:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or Computer Science with 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering (Optics or related field) OR PhD in Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or Computer Science with 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering (Optics or related field)
- Strong technical competence in optics and camera systems, with the ability to lead investigations and development efforts
- Experience coordinating technical discussions with OEMs, Tier-1s, and Tier-2s, ensuring seamless integration of optical solutions
- Ability to analyze and provide guidance on sensor performance, optical characterizations, and prototype camera data requirements
- Expertise in assessing opto-mechanical geometries, reflection properties, and other factors influencing camera system performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information and influence stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while providing guidance to team members and contributing to key organizational decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience prioritizing tasks and managing open-ended projects requiring planning and execution
