Your mission

In this position, you lead three teams within procurement and your main responsibility is to ensure that procurement activities are executed in alignment with our strategic objectives, sustainability perspective, requirements and policies across the product area, business area and the industry group. You develop and uphold policies and targets, ensuring external expenditures achieve optimal cost and performance levels. You translate organizational purchasing requirements into actionable objectives, providing a comprehensive overview of external spend and executing agreed-upon projects.

As the lead negotiator in strategic business decisions, you play a pivotal role in securing critical agreements for Sandvik Coromant. You adeptly manage the risk profile of our sourcing activities to align with business needs and ensure a sustainable supplier base. Your responsibilities encompass creating, implementing, and monitoring initiatives designed to enhance supplier cost efficiency and performance. By taking a holistic approach, you contribute to the overall strategic direction and long-term success of the company.

As a true Sandvik Coromant leader, you act as a role model and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvements while managing the teams of Strategic Sourcing, Tactical and Operational Purchasing and Supplier Quality.

You’re a valued member of the management team and report directly to the Vice President of Supply at Sandvik Coromant. The location for this position is in Sandviken, Sweden, and international travel is required.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone with a master’s in technology or business administration combined with extensive experience in a senior managerial purchasing role within a multinational manufacturing company. You have a proven track record in line management and have actively engaged with senior stakeholders and production engineer. Your strong business acumen and proficiency in SAP are essential. Experience as a management team member is advantageous. Acting in a global company calls for good English skills, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish is a plus.

Your personality is characterized by your ability to lead change and motivate teams. You’re a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a profound ability to analyze complex situations. Your structured approach enables you to set ambitious targets, deliver on promises, and follow through effectively. As a trusted networker with a deep understanding of stakeholder needs, you communicate seamlessly with colleagues and external partners across our global organization. Your holistic view allows you to act on both short- and long-term objectives, driving sustainable and profitable growth.
