Coherent is developing and manufacturing optical chips that are at the core of Coherents communications solutions. We are growing and are looking for a Product Engineer to further strengthen our Product Engineering Team in Järfälla, Sweden. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for a product family, tightly cooperating both with R&D, Wafer Fab, and with other manufacturing sites in China and USA. In this role, you will have a good understanding of the product and production process from wafer to finished product. You will work in stimulating environment, with strong cooperation between different functions and a dynamic flat organization.
As a Senior Product Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all released products while ensuring a smooth transition of new products from R&D to production. Your leadership will be crucial in optimizing cost and performance while maintaining high quality and efficiency across manufacturing sites. By leveraging Lean Production principles and Kaizen methodologies, you will drive continuous improvements and eliminate inefficiencies to enhance operational excellence.
Primary Duties
- Ensure cost-efficient and high-performance production of released products.
- Monitor and analyze product performance and drive continuous improvements using Lean and Kaizen principles.
- Implement and refine systematic procedures to identify and resolve recurring quality issues.
- Oversee manufacturing readiness for new products and facilitate their transition into production.
- Drive waste reduction and efficiency improvements through Lean methodologies.
- Manage product configuration, changes, and set-up across manufacturing sites.
- Lead wafer certification processes and provide performance feedback to Fab and Test.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and cost-performance analysis for all released products.
Education & Experience
- Strong background in high-tech engineering and production (semiconductor industry experience is a plus).
- Experience in Lean Production and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar).
- 15 years of experience in management or a relevant technical leadership position.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent work experience.
- Fluent in English.
