Gårdsfisk is committed to creating sustainable fish production in Sweden. We raise two species: Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Clarias (Clarias gariepinus). With almost 40 employees, Gårdsfisk has an ambitious plan for years ahead. Our farm is located in Skättilljunga – 25 minutes from Kristianstad. As Gårdsfisk continues to grow, we are looking for an aquaculture worker to join our adventure.

Aquaculture Team Leader Technician

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Team Leader Technician to join our team. As Team leader, you will supervise, in collaboration with your manager, a small team dedicated to the hatchery and pre-growing of animals in a RAS environment. Together with your manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily tasks, monitoring animal welfare, and maintaining the installations. You will also play a key assistant manager role in managing schedules, training the team, and implementing production protocols.

Responsibilities in collaboration with your manager:

  • Monitor the health and welfare of the animals
  • Supervise and manage a team of two technicians
  • Organize and plan daily tasks
  • Participate in the daily routines
  • Participate in animal grading
  • Ensure water quality monitoring and track animal growth
  • Maintain equipment and supervise cleaning and disinfection operations
  • Manage the stock of consumables and equipment

Skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in aquaculture, biology, or a similar field (Bachelor’s level)
  • Experience in aquaculture (internships or first job accepted)
  • Technical knowledge of water quality management and RAS systems
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, with excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Good level of English, both written and spoken (Swedish is not required)
  • Driver's license and vehicle are mandatory

Contract:

  • Work from Tuesday to Saturday
  • Work on Sundays on a rotating schedule with the team (time off and compensation)
  • Possibility of joining on-call duty one week per month in rotation (time off and extra pay)
  • Long-term contract with a 6-month probation period
  • 40 hours per week and 5 weeks of paid vacation (possibility part-time contract)
