ValueOne is looking for a Category Specialist for a manufacturing company in Västerås. Initially, you will be employed by ValueOne with the intention that the role will transition to a permanent employment with our client.

As Category Specialist you will support the company’s global sourcing initiatives, under collaboration with category managers and the project team. You will engage in projects and execute strategies defined during the tendering phase. You will ensure that the goods and material are procured, produced, and delivered on budget, on time and with quality to the company’s project sites worldwide.

Main tasks:

• Drive request for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Support category related actions on supplier qualification and audits processes.
• Initiate purchase orders and issue proper quotation comparison to support the purchasing decision.
• Ensure that the suppliers comply with the laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives that the company requires from them.
• Control appropriate time responses from the suppliers.
• Work together with the global team of category managers, transactional buyers, logistic planners, and supplier quality engineers.

We are looking for a person with a minimum of two years’ experience in tactical purchasing and category management within the manufacturing industry. An academic degree in a relevant field is desirable and you should be comfortable in expressing yourself, written and spoken, in English. You have experience of purchasing technical equipment.

For success in the position good networking and stakeholder management skills are an asset. Analytical skills combined with a structured and process-oriented mindset are preferred. Furthermore, you are a team player who is also able to take on own initiatives and drive activities.
