Position description
The purpose of the position is to give the employee an early opportunity to develop his or her independence as a researcher and to create the conditions for further acquisitions of qualifications after completing the doctoral degree.The position is part of efforts to underpin the future supply of skills. The position is a temporary employment of 2 years.
Mälardalen University is looking for a competent and ambitious postdoc to join the Division of Organisation and Management at the Faculty of Business, Society and Engineering (EST).
The position is a time-limited postdoc position where the person is primarily expected to carry out empirical research in industrial economics and organization, linked to the research environment Future Energy. The position is focused on change management in industrial organizations. The main theme is change and sustainability, where, for example, change initiatives based on ideas for sustainable solutions in industry are studied. With the connection to Future Energy, the energy industry is an appropriate empirical context, but other industries can also be discussed.
You are expected to be committed and contribute to the research environment. Examples include publishing research in qualified scientific journals, discussing one's own and others' work at seminars, and collaborating with relevant actors both within and outside the research community. You are expected to be enterprising, which means, among other things, that your own research is initiated, carried out, presented and published. Collaboration with other researchers within and outside your own research environment is expected.
Employment as a postdoc is a career development position and should mainly relate to research. This also includes a certain amount of collaboration with companies and other stakeholders. Teaching may be included, but must then amount to a maximum of one fifth of the total working hours (maximum 20% of a full-time employment).
Qualifications requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in the subject of industrial economics or a related field.
The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period. You have not previously held a position as a postdoctoral researcher in the same or related subject area at MDU that exceeds one year.
You must have good oral and written communication skills in Swedish at the level required to perform regular tasks in research, teaching and administration. In case of lack of knowledge of Swedish employment can still take place on the condition that the person who is hired has the ability to actively acquire this knowledge. Requirements for employment are the ability to teach and conduct research in English.

Assesment criteria
For this position, special emphasis will be placed on published research in industrial economics or related subjects, such as business administration, in addition to the doctoral thesis. Teaching experience at university and college level is also a merit.
In an overall assessment of suitability, emphasis is also placed on personal abilities. All employees at MDU are expected to cooperate and treat colleagues and students with respect, take responsibility for the organisation and their own work duties and contribute to a positive work environment.
It is important that you who are offered the position have high motivation and take initiatives. To be able to work independently, structured, analytically and in a problem-solving way is required. The position is suitable for a person with good communication skills. It is important to be a good listener and to be able to receive and give feedback. The researcher is also expected to be focused on achieving goals and delivering high quality.
