Context The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) is an international research organisation at the forefront of neutron science and technology. You will join the Design, Calculations and Construction Service (SDC), which is responsible for managing complex projects, both at the ILL and for external entities. You will assist with the manufacture of parts for the construction of state-of-the-art scientific instruments. Your tasks As a member of the SDC, you will be responsible for the in-house manufacture of mechanical parts designed by the SDC's design engineers. Your duties will be to: . Perform one or more production operations based on the manufacturing documentation . Check the quality of manufactured parts (surface finish, dimensions, etc.) . In collaboration with the Deputy Head of Service, manufacture parts to the required deadlines . Assist with machine maintenance and contribute to the smooth running of the workshop . Liaise with the SDC's design engineers to facilitate the manufacture of mechanical parts. Your profile . You have a Level 3/4 qualification (NVQ, HNC, advanced apprenticeship or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or similar. . You also have some knowledge of production engineering. . You have the spatial awareness to be able to visualise the part to be manufactured (using cross-sections and perspective sections). . You have experience of using conventional and CNC machine tools, as well as metrology equipment. . You have no difficulty reading drawings, diagrams and schematics. . Knowledge of Solidworks would be an advantage. . Sound knowledge of written and spoken French is required. Knowledge of spoken English is desirable. . You must be organised and meticulous in your work, approachable and a good listener. You enjoy working as part of a team and are highly adaptable.
