AMRA is a ground-breaking international informatics health company at the forefront of medical imaging and precision medicine. AMRA was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of Linköping University, Sweden, with the aim to support transformative care and vital decision-making from clinical research to health and wellness. Today we are 40+ employees based around the world and are operating on the US, European, Australian and Asian market, with the need to expand further.
The company has developed a new global standard in body composition assessment, the ability to automatically produce multiple fat and muscle biomarkers with unrivaled precision and accuracy, as well as contextual disease insights – all from a single whole-body MRI.
We work with the world's leading pharma companies and academic hospitals in the world to develop new treatments in Metabolic, Neuromuscular and Sarcopenia/Frailty areas.
Job assignments
As a Clinical Scientist focused on the cardiometabolic (including, e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease) and obesity area, you will be part of the Science team and support a wide range of research studies including pharmaceutical clinical trials and academic research. The tasks are varied, including acting as AMRA’s lead scientist for selected projects, being responsible for the scientific integrity of deliverables, as well as supporting internally and externally with scientific expertise on AMRA’s offerings and products in the cardiometabolic and obesity area.
With the rising market for anti-obesity medications, this role will be central in supporting studies investigating changes in fat distribution and muscle composition with significant weight reduction. AMRA has a strong scientific foundation and presence, leading to possibilities of being involved in research studies as a co-researcher/author in both internal and external scientific projects.
Most of the team is based in Linköping, Sweden. However, this position is not required to be based in Linköping as we are open to distance working. Travelling expectations are up to 5 days a month.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates with an interest in medicine, clinical research, and applications of fat and muscle imaging. As you will need to develop an understanding for AMRA’s technical platform, measurements and biomarkers, a strong technical background and corresponding MSc degree is required – for example in engineering physics, engineering mathematics or similar. Experience within medicine and research is highly valuable but not required. Programming skills are valuable, in particular R and Python.
As we collaborate with colleagues and customers all over the world, you need to be fluent in both spoken and written English, and be comfortable speaking and presenting to external parties. You need to be good at taking initiatives, assimilate new knowledge efficiently, and be comfortable working independently and in groups.
