To see the full advert, please see https://web103.reachmee.com/ext/I018/1151/job?site=8&lang=UK&validator=2efd9e54ee423d53334ac7960e3b4e03&job_id=p2757 Work duties An appointment as Associate Senior Lecturer is a fixed-term career-development position of least four years and at the most six years in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 4, Section 12 a. The purpose of the appointment is for the teacher to have the opportunity to develop research autonomy and acquire the scholarly and teaching qualifications required for the eligibility requirement for appointment as a Senior Lecturer. The starting point is that the work should be divided between research (60%) and undergraduate education (40%). The position includes working in a structured way to meet the requirements for obtaining a permanent position as a university lecturer. The research part includes working with colleagues on ongoing and upcoming research projects, as well as developing new research areas that can be linked to our existing master's program in environmental engineering. The research results should be published in journals of high scientific quality. This is done in consultation with research leaders, professors, and other senior colleagues. Furthermore, it includes contributing to the development of new research applications relevant to the field of environmental engineering and the research environment Future Energy. In undergraduate education, the work involves teaching in the subject of environmental engineering, initially primarily at the advanced level (second cycle, MSc in environmental engineering). This includes conducting lectures, seminars, designing and grading assignments, written and oral exams. The position also includes being responsible for courses and managing courses in our digital learning platform Canvas. It will also be relevant to participate in the work of developing new courses for the planned bachelor's program in environmental engineering, and/or revising courses in our existing master's program. Eligibility requirements The entry requirements to be appointed as an associate Senior Lecturer is primarily a person who has graduated with a Degree of Doctor or has the equivalent academic competence maximum five years before the time for application for employment as an Associate Senior Lecturer has expired. The applicant should have completed ten weeks of higher education teaching and learning education or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. Anyone who is appointed as an Associate Senior Lecturer but who lacks a higher education teaching and learning education will be offered such an employment within two and a half years. The higher education teaching and learning at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks. Specific requirements for this position that must be fulfilled are: - A doctoral degree in an engineering subject or an equivalent relevant field, with specialization in one or more of the following areas:   a) Large-scale data processing and AI   b) Life cycle assessments   c) Resource efficiency and circularity - Competence to teach in fundamental courses in the subject of environmental engineering - Competence in advanced modeling, simulation, and process control. - Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written - The applicant has good skills in various presentation techniques. Assessment criteria The assessment criteria will be based partly on the degree of skill required for the position and partly on the ability and suitability otherwise required to carry out the work duties. Regarding the nature of the appointment as a career-development position, the applicants' scholarly and educational merits will be assessed primarily in qualitative terms. A quantitative advantage of an applicant, which can be explained by an applicant who has been working operatively for a long time, will therefore not be a deciding factor. Upon promotion to senior lecturer By the end of the appointment as an Associate Senior Lecturer the applicant has the right to be assessed for appointment to senior lecturer.
