About the position

Perido is looking for a Communication Officer to our client, an independent and important agency of the European Union. The mission of this agency is to strengthen Europe’s defenses against infectious diseases and identify, assess, and communicate current and emerging threats to human health posed by infectious diseases. The position is placed at their office which is nicely located just outside of Stockholm city.

Your daily tasks

In this role, you will support the Communication Section, that is responsible for risk, crisis and external communication, media relations, web management, social media, and internal communication, amongst other areas. The main communication goal is to help its target audiences to make informed decisions about their health and the health of others.

More specifically, you will be involved in following tasks:

  • Contribute to external and internal communication activities
  • Create, write, and edit content covering corporate and internal communication, science, health, and risk communication
  • Support management and publication of approved content on the internal info centre and the website
  • Provide support to staff in drafting clear communication messages and outputs for internal and external communication
  • Support the planning and organization of information stands for conferences
  • Support the planning and organization of communication packages for external meetings, information stands, media, and study visits
  • Perform other tasks in support of the communication functions as assigned by the supervisor

Your qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, you need to have an excellent ability to communicate efficiently at all levels, internally and externally, in an appropriate manner. You also need to have excellent knowledge of how the media works and hands-on experience of conducting media relations. Furthermore, you have a high capacity to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, excellent planning and organisational skills, and an eminent ability to work in a team. Last but not least, we believe that you have a great ability to synthesize and analyze complex information and convert this into a format that is comprehensible for non-technical audiences. With a strong service minded approach and focus on delivering high-quality work, we know that you will succeed in your role!

Qualifications:

  • Education at university level, preferably in areas related to science and health communication, journalism, scientific writing or copy editing
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in communication
  • Hands-on experience in communicating with various audiences using different formats/channels including the general public and other non-technical audiences
  • Excellent writing and editing skills including the ability to synthesize and convert complex information into various formats for non-technical audiences
  • Excellent ability to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels internally and externally, in an appropriate manner
  • Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent command of English, spoken and written

Contract type and hours

Full time, consulting assignment for 3 months. Start in January.
