Our client, a leader in cloud-driven innovation, is seeking a Data Engineer & FinOps Analyst to take charge of managing and optimizing cloud expenditures across their Azure and GCP platforms. If you are passionate about cloud cost management, data analytics, and FinOps principles, this opportunity is for you.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will oversee cloud costs, integrate cost data with business processes, and deliver actionable insights through advanced reporting and dashboards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to FinOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

– Cloud Cost Management: Manage and monitor cloud spending for Azure and GCP, ensuring efficient use of resources.

– Data Integration: Process cloud cost data, integrate it into the organizational business structure, and create detailed reports and dashboards for decision-making.

– Cost Optimization: Identify savings opportunities such as reservations and savings plans, address cost anomalies, and implement actions to reduce unnecessary expenses.

– Reporting and Governance: Design and deliver dashboards that address cloud cost management, chargeback/showback, governance, engineering, and compliance requirements.

– Collaboration: Partner with product teams, finance controllers, engineering groups, and cloud vendors to resolve cost-related issues and provide actionable insights.

Required Skills & Experience:

– Data Reporting Tools: Expertise in Power BI, Data Factory, and Power Automate (preferred). Experience with Fabric is a bonus.

– Cloud Platforms: Solid understanding of Azure and GCP fundamentals, including BigQuery and cloud cost management APIs.

– Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell and resource graph queries for automation and analysis.

– Data Analysis: Skilled in analyzing complex datasets to identify cost trends, anomalies, and areas for optimization.

– FinOps Expertise: Practical experience with FinOps principles, including cost governance, optimization, chargeback, and showback models.

Soft Skills:

– Collaboration: Proven ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams and stakeholders.

– Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Familiarity with Azure Workbooks, Logic Apps, and GCP BigQuery.

– Knowledge of advanced cloud cost optimization tools and techniques.
