All about the role:

Working with Digital Commerce Product team, D2C/ecommerce and other cross-functional internal and external team members, the Ecommerce Platform Optimization Product Owner will bring features to life in web CMS/ecommerce platforms, currently Optimizely CMS and SAP Commerce Cloud, and clearly communicate product benefits, roadmap, comparisons to similar external products, and integration points with other systems to our users and internal stakeholders. The Optimization Product Owner is focused on deriving business value from Optimizely CMS and SAP Commerce Cloud, engaging with stakeholders for feedback and requirements, and communicating the product vision from leadership to the development and implementation teams.

As a digital product owner you will engage with key stakeholders across business, product and engineering teams to develop, prioritize and manage the product roadmap, driving the agile development process to deliver new features and functionality, identifying and measuring key metrics to ensure a best in class consumers experience across our web and mobile properties.

Your main responsibilities will include gathering product requirements, shepherding projects to launch, and monitoring/measuring the user experience and revenue they create. This role is a hands-on product ownership role, as a part of a cross-functional team creating user-centric ecommerce experiences.

What you will do:

  • Drive the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of the CMS platform product, Optimizely CMS, and ecommerce engine, SAP Commerce Cloud
  • Lead cross-functional teams and shepherd product features through defining, managing, and implementing the product backlog
  • Lead CMS change management effort through setting standards, documenting and conducting training
  • Establish features and acceptance criteria then verify acceptance criteria has been met after feature is implemented
  • Work closely with internal teams and the development partner to ensure delivered functionality meets requirements
  • Keep all stakeholders regularly informed of product management and development planning
  • Evolve web CMS and ecommerce platform capabilities to support integration with products internally and externally
  • Assist in the design and development process from concept to release
  • Take responsibility for delivery, and ensure successful, timely completion of project with required functionality
  • Document and communicate requirements to implement teams and ensure products meet specifications
  • Gather metrics and generate reports to evaluate success of product features or opportunities
  • Seek out and interpret user feedback through a variety of traditional and nontraditional resources to guide product development
  • Ensure an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all the members of the product teams
  • Embody the voice of the user inside the business and must be passionate about the user experience and workflows
  • Gather metrics on how consumers are using the product and use that data to make the product better and more competitive


Who you are:

Critical requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years in a product management role or experience working with digital products required; experience having partnered with ecommerce or growth teams in the past, experience with a CMS, a commerce platform and A/B testing is a plus
  • Experience in gathering and documenting product requirements for development teams, including business rationale, user stories, functional specifications, and wire-framing
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and be a very strong and confident communicator (fluent English is a prerequisite) able to converse easily among business, editorial and development teams. Must demonstrate a strong understanding of user experience, technical & business issues
  • Must be experienced in Mobile and APIs
  • Proficient in JIRA, Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence - able to break down product vision into epics and user stories for development, with acceptance criteria, in an agile framework


Nice to have skills:

  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles, UX Design best practices, trends and emerging technologies
  • A general understanding of high availability web-based systems, infrastructure operations and application operations
