The Role:

As the Product Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sustainability strategies that align with our commercial goals. You will drive the implementation of sustainability as a service, develop digital product passports, and conduct life cycle assessments (LCA) to position stainless steel as a key enabler of sustainable business development. Your expertise will guide internal teams and customers, ensuring compliance with global sustainability regulations and contributing to product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sustainability as a service to drive commercial value.
• Lead the development and implementation of digital product passports to enable the data-to-value concept.
• Conduct life cycle assessments (LCA) to position stainless steel against other materials, supporting sustainable business growth.
• Provide expert guidance to internal teams and customers on sustainability principles, standards, and regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding sustainability-related inquiries and ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure products comply with global sustainability regulations and standards, contributing to the company's sustainability reputation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, R&D, and Operations, to integrate sustainability into product development processes.
• Monitor and report on product performance and sustainability metrics, adjusting strategies to meet targets.
• Stay informed on global sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices to influence product strategy and development.

What You’ll Bring:

• A technical master’s degree or comparable education.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in sustainability and life cycle assessments (LCA).
• Proven leadership skills, particularly in cross-functional work.
• Strong presentation and project management abilities, with a passion for sustainability.
• Ability to work independently, setting and prioritizing your own tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of persuading and influencing both internally and externally.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal); additional language skills are an advantage.

Location and Reporting:

This role will report to the Head of Sustainable Solutions & Products and can be based at any of the main Outokumpu locations in Europe.
