Automation and Engineer Manager

This position reports into Site Lead Make Asset Management and is based at Helsingborg.

The Helsingborg site is one of the largest employers in the city of Helsingborg, and the business is divided in two separate departments: Operations, where we house our manufacturing activities and R & D, our global development center for excellence working in three therapeutic areas for selfcare treatments: Smoking Cessation, Digestive Health and Cough & Cold.

What you will do

As the Automation & Engineering Manager, you will drive our engineering and automation strategies, leading a talented team and collaborating across departments to boost production efficiency and uphold safety and quality standards. This hands-on role oversees projects from concept to completion, ensures compliance, and brings forward new technologies to keep the company competitive and aligned with Industry 4.0 advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation strategies to enhance production efficiency.
• Oversee new system and equipment installation to ensure accurate specifications and timely project completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize processes.
• Set and maintain standard operating procedures and engineering policies for streamlined operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other departments as needed.
• Mentor and manage a team, offering performance feedback and fostering a high-performing culture.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance with industry advancements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to implement Industry 4.0 solutions

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in automation and engineering, with a focus on leadership.
• Strong project management, analytical problem-solving, and PLC programming skills.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and departmental leadership.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with FPX methodology and GMP principles.
• Solid experience and strong knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, or similar process-improvement methodologies.
