What we offer
Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars. The ART Connectivity Platform within the Department Connectivity Platform is responsible for delivering Global Connectivity as a service – E2E including SW and Mobile Network Services. The platform we provide is the prerequisite for all connected applications and services within the vehicle.
What you'll do
What you will do
Your purpose as a software developer, together with your colleagues in your agile team and the product owner, is to provide stepwise (business) value to the larger solutions/systems (via the Agile Release Train - ART). You as Sw developer will define and maintain the product software architecture of the product and be responsible for the building blocks within. We also expect you to be on top of technology evolution and provide new ideas to continuously improve the product and our processes.
You will belong to Connectivity platform ART and work with our project to develop Assistance call(bCall) and eCall functionality for the next generation Volvo Cars and Polestar. Your focus is on software development and making sure our customers get the best possible system with regards to functionality and quality within the telematics and connectivity area.
What you'll bring
For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you are a motivated software developer that would like to learn in junior role or being more senior and take a leading role. You embrace teamwork, collaboration and are eager to learn and develop new competences. Experience from working in the automotive or telecom industry is a clear advantage to succeed in this role, but if that is not the case, we will help you to succeed if you have the right mindset.
We see that you have a BSc degree or higher in Software Engineering or equivalent experience. 5+ years of application development using C++, strong communication skills and driver license B. In addition, you’ll need experience and competence in the following tech;
• Git
• Deep knowledge of Linux
• Java/Python
• TCP/IP stack
• Network connectivity-related components and tools in Linux
• Gerrit (or equivalent code review system)
• Test methodologies (System, Integration and Component testing)
