About the role
You have the chance to be a part of the Control and Protection Software Engineer for Converter Control.
Join a diverse team of 50 engineers working on software and testing to control HVDC converters.
Programming is done in HiDraw, their own language.
The role includes managing customer requirements and contracts.
Further selection of tasks:
•
Develop Software in HiDraw:
Program and maintain control software using HiDraw.
•
Customer Requirements Management:
Understand and implement customer requirements into the system's functionality and control software.
•
Testing and Troubleshooting:
Perform lab tests on control sequences and interlocks to ensure the HVDC system operates safely and reliably.
•
Work on Frequency Regulation and Future Technologies:
Implement additional features like frequency control and contribute to developing multi-terminal HVDC and DC grids, which are part of the future of power networks.

Must have:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Energy or Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering focused on Embedded Systems, Automation, and Control Engineering).
• Some experience in power engineering—whether from coursework or work experience.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Resides near Ludvika or is willing to relocate.
Nice to have:
• Software or programming experience.
• Background in computer science.
• Electronics knowledge.
• Experience in network monitoring.
• Industry experience.
