We develop and improve interior sensing technology for vehicles, focusing on areas such as radar, cameras and other optical sensors. Our team is responsible for providing strategic and scientific input, solving technical issues, keeping up with global trends and customer needs, and sharing our expertise within the organization. What you’ll do?
The vehicle industry provides a rapidly changing environment constantly introducing new complex challenges. As Technical Specialist for Interior Sensing, you will have a central role in shaping Volvo Cars future by building knowledge and defining strategies within the area. You will work together with a highly motivated development team and have access to Volvo Cars technical specialist community.
Your responsibilities will be:
Defining Volvo Cars interior sensing technology strategies (mid and long term).
Systematically build knowledge within the area through research and supplier collaborations.
Collaborate with different key roles within the company to understand Volvo Cars future needs and priorities within the area.
Follow and influence development of legislation and industry standards within the area.
Communicating with suppliers.
Working on legal aspects to ensure compliance and innovation.
Providing scientific and strategic input to address and resolve key technical issues.
Conduct global intelligence to understand trends, customer needs and benchmark against competitors.
Acting as a “go-to person” for advice and guidance within your area of expertise.
Developing organizational knowledge by teaching, mentoring, and coaching team members.
Aligning with internal stakeholders on future needs and defining business value.
Investigating business cases built on investments versus revenue.
Bringing offered technologies to company decisions.
Continuously developing and reviewing the complete electrical and software framework for interior sensing to understand architectural roadblocks and their impact on time, technology, cost, and resource strategies.
What you’ll bring?
To be successful in this role, you should have:
At least 10 years of experience in the relevant field, with a strong background in sensing technologies and experience with electrical and software frameworks.
A deep understanding of the automotive industry, including both hardware and software.
Excellent knowledge of radars and other sensing technologies.
Systematic and scientific approach.
Knowledge in machine learning and ML verification.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with universities, institutes, and high-level management.
Ability to explain complex things in a way that is easy to follow.
Proficiency in English, speech and writing.
An analytical and strategic mindset, with strong problem-solving skills.
An understanding of legal and safety aspects related to automotive technology.
