We are now expanding our Electrical Safety Solutions organization with a new team and are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join us in Vårgårda. Role and responsibilities As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and designing the mechanical parts of HVDC and LVDC bypass / breakers. Bypass / breakers is a vital product to protect systems producing, storing, and converting electricity. You will be part of a cross functional team, that will work in all stages of development, from the first sketch to the start of production of a new product. You should be comfortable to work both in early phases with fast iterative design loops as well as in late phases where detailed documentation (drawings) and proofs for that the design is robust, are vital. You will work closely with partners and suppliers to optimize the component design in terms of cost and manufacturability. Who are you? We are looking for someone with a BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent acquired knowledge, and minimum 5 years of experience within product development. You need to have a general knowledge when it comes to material properties, understanding the physical characteristics of materials used in mechanical design. Catia is the tool of our choice and specifications and drawings a part of your daily work. Experience in setting up test methods and processes for test analysis is an advantage.
