Job Description

We are looking for a Chief Accountant to strengthen the SSC Accounting team in Sweden

AFRY’s Shared Service Center handles all accounting and reporting for AFRY’s Swedish companies. The Accounting and Reporting team is looking for a Chief Accountant who will manage the accounting and reporting for the Parent company, as well as AFRY Group AB, the Swedish holding company, and all acquisition, merger and liquidation processes for acquired companies in the Group. In this role, you will have many points of contact and work closely with controllers, Group Accounting, the Legal department and other departments globally in the Group.

Your main tasks:

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounting and account reconciliations as well as reporting and analysis for the Parent company, AFRY Group AB and other minor companies according to K3 standard
  • Intercompany transactions within the Group, as well as reconciling and develop stable and functioning process together with the Group Accounting Team
  • Functioning as a bridge between the Accounting and Reporting Team Sweden and Group Accounting in K3 and IFRS-reporting
  • Be responsible for acquisition, merger and liquidation processes for acquired companies in the Group, as well as reporting for the same
  • VAT, tax and income tax return calculation and reporting for the responsible companies
  • Participate in, develop and drive the establishment and streamlining of more effective common routines and processes for the department

You will belong to the finance department in SSC Stockholm, consisting of 35 people divided into two teams. You will be part of the Accounting & Reporting Team, which today includes 6 Chief Accountants with a total of 14 people. You report directly to the group manager for Accounting & Reporting.


Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has

  • Several years of experience in qualified accounting within larger companies with complex financial flows in both Swedish local (K3) and international accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Independence in financial reporting and previous experience in conducting annual reports
  • A great knowledge of and experience from accounting principles, both Swedish and international standards
  • A positive, independent and self-initiated way of working and hands-on attitude
  • An interest in a system-based landscape and will to learn more and develop new ways of working
  • A great sense for service and drive to support in all types of questions
  • Capability to see and drive the development of internal processes and ways of working together with colleagues in different part of the organization
  • Great software skills, especially MS Office-environment (i.e. Excel and Teams)

As a person, you are meticulous and have the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and coordinate both your own workload, but also have a broader perspective for the Group needs. You have a positive attitude towards challenges and thrive in a changing environment with a high pace. Naturally, you are service-oriented and see contact with people as something natural and positive.

Background

  • Master of Business Administration, or higher
  • Longtime experience in large international financial flows
  • Great knowledge in both local and international accounting standards
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
