Your role and responsibilities

You will join the R&D team at ABB Metallurgy Center of Excellence in Västerås. ABB Metallurgy sells, de-velops and manufactures electromagnetic stirrers and brakes for the metals industry. Within this area, it is of utmost importance to stay ahead of the competition and to develop new solutions and attract customers by technological leadership and design advantages. ABB maintains a no. 1 position in the market, partly by conducting advanced simulations of magnetic fields, molten metal flows and thermal phenomena, and is thus able to provide a leading edge to the products delivered. We have a simula-tion history with experience spanning over several decades in the organization. The main part of our organization is based in Västerås, with a market that is worldwide.
In the R&D and Simulations Group at ABB Metallurgy, existing calculation tools and newly developed multi-physics tools are employed frequently. These models are also continuously developed.
