We are looking for a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is part of our excellent team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in building one of the first large-scale European battery factories.

Job Scope:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning of novel equipment and processes, optimizing process equipment, and designing mechanical improvements. You will ensure that equipment installation meets the company-approved design, quality standards, and schedules as specified in design documentation and quality plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and pre-commissioning activities of equipment and subsystems.
  • Review engineering and HSE documents to ensure commissioning and startup requirements are integrated into the design.
  • Act as the client representative during all site mechanical inspections.
  • Approve and assist in executing equipment commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation, including FAT, SAT, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project, and operations teams for the final handover of new equipment, providing final sign-off on tested equipment.


Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Equipment Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation.
  • 5+ years of related experience in chemical and hydrometallurgical, petrochemical, petroleum production, refining facilities, or mineral processing.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, preferably in metal recycling, mineral, or hydrometallurgy processing.
  • Proficient in risk assessments, gap assessments, and change controls.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.


Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with ASME, API standards, and reliability best practices.
  • Experience in reviewing, designing, and selecting pumps, compressors, blowers, conveyor belts, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, storage vessels, filters, and solid handling systems.
  • Knowledge in corrosion and material compatibility.


Full-time employment, fixed salary.
