As our first Director of Engineering, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of engineering at Stravito. Reporting directly to our CTO (based in Stockholm), you'll build the role from the ground up, with focus on leading and inspiring our engineering team to deliver innovative solutions that empower our clients worldwide.

While this is a remote-friendly position, being based in Stockholm or elsewhere in Sweden is a bonus as it allows for more frequent in-person collaboration. We also have offices in Amsterdam and London, so we encourage you to apply if you are located in Sweden, the Netherlands or the UK.

Success in this role means elevating our engineering capabilities, delivering outstanding products, and significantly contributing to Stravito's growth and innovation. Key responsibilities includes:

• Leadership and team development: Mentor and grow a diverse team of engineers across multiple disciplines and locations, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Strategic planning: Develop and execute an engineering roadmap aligned with company objectives, driving technical vision and innovation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams to define priorities and deliver on our product goals.
• Process improvement: Promote best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, to enhance productivity and quality.
• Scaling and growth: Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our platform as we continue to grow.

We believe you are a seasoned Engineering Manager ready to take the next step in your career, or an experienced Director who wants to craft your own role. • Extensive leadership experience: Proven experience in engineering management roles, leading diverse teams in tech environments.
• Technical skills: Experience in software development and system architecture. Proficiency in any modern programming languages such as Java/Kotlin, Python, or TypeScript is helpful but not required. We value diverse technical backgrounds and are more interested in your ability to learn and adapt.
• A strategic mindset: Ability to align technical initiatives with business goals and drive innovation.
• Excellent communication skills: Effective at collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting ideas clearly.
• Inclusive leadership: Passionate about fostering an inclusive team culture where everyone feels valued and empowered.
• Initiative and ownership:A proactive approach with an “own it, do it” mentality, eager to take on challenges and lead successful outcomes.
