About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and manage our diverse R&D teams, including DBAs, ensuring that all projects align with business values and are completed on time. The ideal candidate will focus on enhancing productivity, quality, meeting deadlines, and coaching team members across various departments.

This role requires technical knowledge and experience but will mainly be about managing people, and not the product.

Responsibilities

• Department Management: Oversee and coordinate the activities of various R&D departments, including software development, quality assurance, security engineering, DevOps/infrastructure, and database teams.
• Productivity and Deadlines: Ensure teams meet productivity goals and project deadlines while aligning with business objectives.
• Staff Development: Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide coaching, take part in recruitment, and manage staff development to foster a high-performing team environment. Build and scale teams, both on-site and remote. This would include some traveling to other countries.
• Collaboration with Product Managers: Oversee product managers running individual teams to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with company goals.
• Performance Monitoring: Implement metrics to monitor team performance, quality and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and help develop processes and best practice.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business values.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, coaching, quality and productivity.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple departments and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring technical staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent technical experience such as prior work as a software developer.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in fluent English and Swedish.
