Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior Platform Engineer within the Engineering Data Hub. This role is based in Gothenburg, and you will be expected to work most of the time from their office there.

Software engineering is becoming increasingly important in the automotive industry. Our client is bringing more of their software development in-house to better manage continuous integration and handle the complex interactions between various functions. Their data vision centers on driving innovation and empowering decisions with trusted data, overcoming obstacles through innovative, robust designs, and preparing for future changes.

Engineering Data Hub Department

This department within Software Engineering has a mission to:

• Provide trusted data and insights to understand product and process performance.
• Enhance customer behavior insights for improved efficiency and customer experience.

The department is growing and looking for curious, creative individuals who want to contribute to innovative thinking and change the world.

Platform Operations and Engineering Team

The team works to accelerate and streamline the use of data, analytics, and AI. They innovate and collaborate to offer a great user experience, providing a unified self-service platform.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Platform Engineer, you will:

• Design and build a platform to support the data and analytics capabilities of the client’s Engineering organization.
• Configure and set up cloud infrastructure, deploying and operating data-oriented applications on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with other teams and platform users to:
  • Gather requirements.
  • Maintain seamless operations.

As the platform is in its early development phase, you will have the opportunity to:

• Contribute to the platform’s foundation.
• Shape its future growth and success.

Daily Used Tech:

• Languages: Python, Go
• Cloud Infrastructure: Azure, Kubernetes
• DevOps Tools: Terraform, Crossplane, GitHub Actions, Flux, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, Vault
• PaaS: Databricks, Snowflake

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
• Implementation of scalable infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
• Deployment and operation of applications and services on Kubernetes.
• Expertise in designing and implementing internal developer platforms.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in related fields.
• Familiarity with Agile methods.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Additional Qualifications:

• Expertise in networking, security, and reliability in enterprise cloud solutions.
• Experience with Big Data tools and technologies, including:
  • Event streaming (e.g., Kafka, MQTT).
  • Large-scale data processing (e.g., Apache Spark, Ray).
  • Storage solutions for Big Data (e.g., Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake).
• Knowledge of user and device authentication, data and resource access control, and data privacy protection.
