Then the role as Senior Engineer, welding at the Traction Battery Department within Propulsion & Energy is the place for you to prosper!  The Team We are an international team that manages parts and systems for Battery Thermal, and deal with multiple joining techniques, where of welding is one. We have the joy of doing all detail design work ourselves, it is 100% Built to Print parts and we create all technical documents enabling our supplier base to manufacture our parts. We will challenge you and expect you to do the same to bring out the best from each one of us. Main tasks are helping designers with welding friendly design, process selection, failure analyses, material selection, making requirement standards, and looking into new technologies for improvement or new applications. For this you have full support from your team colleagues and support teams for detailed design & CAE work.  You will be involved in meetings with our suppliers to discuss the technical solution and related issues to manufacturing. In the same way, you will be involved in dialogue with our manufacturing engineering to support on securing process quality of welds. In this role, there will be need for some traveling, to visit our different suppliers and vehicle plants to have a good dialogue around your parts and systems. Competence is Important Welding Engineer with 5+ years of Industrial experience -    Minimum BSc. in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant educations with preferably Welding Engineering education record. -    Fully familiar with welding processes MIG, FSW and Laser welding and a good track record of working at least with one or two of them. -    Worked with welding metallurgy of aluminum alloys. -    Familiar and worked with welding friendly design of welded structures. -    Worked with Quality assurance methods for welded structures including welding procedure specification, welding qualification and quality control plan. -    Familiar with industrialization of welding lines and welding equipment as well as quality monitoring methods and tools. -    Familiar and worked with welding inspection methods (DT and NDT) and failure analyses. -    Fully familiar with using welding standards (ISO, EN, etc.) -    Ability to work on multiple projects within a cross functional team (product and process) Extra preferred but optional competencies: -    International Welding Engineer - IWE certificate -    Experience from Automotive industry, especially Electrification -    Experience from working with welding suppliers (audit, inspection, and failure analyses of the quality issues) -    Experience as welding responsible engineer in factory (hands-on jobs with working with line builders, parameter setting, welding personnel qualification, welding quality assurance, equipment maintenance).  -    Experience with writing welding standards, technical specifications, and design guidelines  Personality is Key As we are designing “from scratch” many times, you enjoy creating new solutions, fix tricky problems, and are being able to think outside the box and simply love to take on a good technical challenge together with your team. Due to that you will spend many hours in discussions with different stakeholders, you will also need good communication skills and to enjoy being in contact with a lot of people. There will also be a lot to keep track of, which will be easy for you since you’re structured, organized and good with priorities. This also contributes to you having an overall picture of the team deliveries.
