About the position

In this role, you will work in a small team responsible for identifying and analysing trends, technologies and solutions that may affect Huawei’s future product portfolio. You will contribute with deep analysis in your areas of expertise, but you shall also quickly, by yourself and in collaboration with local and headquarters experts, be able to learn new technology areas and provide valuable insights in such areas.

A successful Technology Planning Engineer provides timely, thorough and precise analysis work that guides and impacts Huawei Sweden’s selection of research projects, identifies investment and collaboration opportunities in Europe, and impacts Huawei’s Headquarters’ planning of platform and product roadmaps.

We are an outward-looking scouting team coordinating the planning of Huawei Sweden’s internal research activities. We help local and HQ researchers find University collaboration partners and run key exploratory research projects with such partners. We also help plan and organise academia and industry technology workshops and events.

Qualifications & experience

• Ph.D. in an area related to Telecommunications and at least five years of relevant documented work experience.

• Specific competence areas of interest:

• Telecommunication systems (with visions and ideas for 6G technology directions)
• Wireless sensing systems, automotive radar/lidar nearfield sensing, etc., and a good understanding of Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) systems
• Baseband compute architectures, radio frontend solutions and antennas, AI, Non-Terrestrial
• Networks, information theory, material science, energy harvesting, etc.

Required skills/personal characteristics

• Analytical, open-minded, conscientious, solution-oriented, self-driving with a professional attitude

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Chinese speaking and writing is a plus

• You can document and present your thoughts in a clear, compelling and to-the-point language
