If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.  What you will do At the Propulsion Software Factory we run a Continuous Integration & Delivery environment for about 500 software developers within the Volvo group. The Software developed and deployed through the Factory represents the technical areas of Electromobility and Conventional Powertrain. Today the Software Factory is producing a virtual Control Unit that is used within the organization for rapid test and simulation. This thesis is to study the opportunities to make this component more life like towards the real hardware by looking into open source Operating Systems for Embedded HW. Suitable background & Competences: We are looking for you who are studying Computer Science or similar. It's required to have knowledge with C programming and its good to have a some personal experience working with Open Source Software Description of thesis work The thesis should investigate the possibility to introduce an Open Source OSEK Operating System into the Volvo Virtual ECU framework. Expected results: A proof of concept implementation with the selected OS. A discussion of the benefits and risks of this method and possible industrializations opportunities.
