We offer a postdoc position in Computational Sustainable Design with the opportunity to take responsibility, manage projects independently and realize your research ideas. You will join a group of highly motivated PhD students and senior researchers working on digital methods and tools to make the built environment more sustainable. Those range from building performance simulation and early-design optimisation to AI, VR and AR. Information about the division and the department Computational Sustainable Design is part of the Sustainable building research group within the Division of Building Technology. It combines sustainability assessment with computational design and decision-making processes. A strong focus lies on circularity, LCA and building performance assessment, but we also include social aspects on neighborhood level. We work with generative design, BIM, GIS and use different machine-learning approaches. Major responsibilities We expect high independence in conducting research projects. We expect that you guide PhD students in conducting and publishing their research. Excellent communication and supervision skills are expected. We develop a range of digital tools and you are expected to lead developing those further. Furthermore, you are expected to support in writing research applications. Qualifications You should have a doctoral degree in engineering, architecture, computer science or similar awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers). Exceptions from the 3-year limit can be made for longer periods resulting from parental leave, sick leave or military service. You should have advanced programming skills, experience with common architectural tools like Grasshopper and Revit, and the skills to handle large datasets. You should have a track record of high quality publications and supervising Bachelor or Master students. Experiences in writing research proposals are beneficial. Contract terms The position is full-time two year with possibility to extend to another year subject to available funding and performance.
