The Regional Finance and Regional Tax teams in the region Northern and Central Europe (NCE) are together covering the full scope from Finance, Accounting, Tax and Business Performance Management. The Accounting & Tax Compliance team, where the open position is placed, is responsible for achieving compliance in course of local statutory accounting and supporting selected corporate income tax obligations in the various countries. Furthermore, the team is contributing to the quarterly tax reporting to headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as acting as Business Partner for various projects.

Region NCE > Accounting & Tax Compliance > Tax & Accounting

The NCE region covers more than 40 legal entities within a wide geographical span, e.g. from Scandinavia in the North, UK and Ireland in the West, Central Europe and Eastern Europe. The wide span of legal entities in combination with a centralized Finance function in the regional head-office in Hamburg ( and satellite offices in Sweden, UK, Poland etc) requires the Finance team to be structured, dynamic and open-minded for close collaboration with local advisors and auditors in the various countries.

Responsibilities

As an Accounting Specialist you will be part of the Accounting & Tax Compliance Team within the Regional Finance department in the NCE region. You will collaborate closely with the different Finance functions in the region, our shared service center in Manila, and also with various stakeholders in other functions inside and outside Vestas.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure local accounting compliance focusing on our entities in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark but also supporting other parts of the region
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, statutory auditors and advisors
  • Preparation of statutory accounts as well as management of statutory audits
  • Reconciliation from IFRS Group Accounts to local statutory accounts
  • Stay up to date with local accounting regulation and ability to drive compliance improvement initiatives in Finance and towards business
  • Support timely and accurate quarterly closing process including assistance of current and deferred tax calculation including submission of reporting packages to headquarter in Denmark
  • Support in tax audits

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience from an audit company, accounting provider as well as similar function in an international company
  • Bachelor's degree (desirable), Senior Accountant or equivalent in a relevant area such as auditing, finance or similar
  • Strong understanding of accounting regulations
  • Good skills in collaborating with colleagues across levels, functions and cultures
  • Good knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) and extra plus if you have skills and interest to utilize new technology in existing processes
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP ERP FI&CO module is an advantage
  • Proficient in verbal and written English and one of the Nordic languages
