Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Skellefteå team.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. A Maintenance Engineer develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and executing Total Preventative Maintenance plans for existing and future equipment
  • Evaluation of needed spare parts of the equipment, including cost benefit analysis.
  • Assessing required maintenance tools and skills required for efficient maintenance of equipment
  • Work proactively with the operators to enable continuous operator maintenance.
  • Review internal and external machine designs at RFQ and design phase for TPM.

Requirements

  • M. Ss or B. Sc degree in technical area such as mechanical, electrical, automation or similar.
  • 3+ years experience in Maintenance Engineering in relevant environments with highly Automated Assembly processes (automotive, aerospace, electronics or similar)
  • Good English both written and oral skills.
  • Experience working with safety and permit procedures
  • Deep understanding and experience of equipment, valves, control tools, chemicals, and electronics.

Specific skills

  • Experience and interest in battery manufacturing industry
  • Certifications and experience within hot works, radiation/laser safety, chemical safety or forklifts
  • Fluency in other languages (Swedish, German, Polish, Chinese)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
