About the role As the Group Accounting Manager at Ikano Bank, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing the accounting teams across our branches in the Nordics, Germany, UK, and Poland. You will be responsible for the accounting for Ikano Bank as a legal entity, ensuring that financial reporting is accurate and timely. You will be located in the head office in Malmö and report to Head of Finance. Key responsibilities In this role, you will provide senior leadership to ensure stability and efficiency in our reporting processes. Your main duties will include: • Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, and develop the accounting teams, fostering a high-performing and caring culture in line with Ikano Bank’s values. • Financial Reporting: Ensure that the accounting teams deliver accurate and timely consolidated accounting and financial reporting for the bank. • Compliance and Quality: Maintain high standards of accounting quality, ensuring compliance with IFRS and the bank’s policies and directives. • Process Management: Take ownership of the implementation and continuous updating of accounting principles and processes, including the chart of accounts. • Intergroup Accounting: Manage intergroup charges and reconciliations, addressing regulatory issues such as VAT and transfer pricing. • Audit engagement: Coordinate and support external audit process by interacting with different functions and engaging in dialogue with auditors to make the process efficient and timely • Project Participation: Engage in projects related to accounting and finance, serving as a partner on regulatory matters and accounting requirements. You will oversee the teams responsible for the monthly closing processes, ensuring the reconciliation of general accounts and appropriate closure bookings. Collaboration with various stakeholders across different countries and departments, both within and outside Ikano Bank, will be a part of your everyday work. The accounting teams work closely with other finance functions such as Finance Administration, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax, and Business Control. Additionally, the accounting function is a key player in the development of technical solutions and supports regulatory matters. Qualifications We are looking for a people-driven manager with a proven track record of creating a caring culture and developing high-performing teams. To be successful in this role, you should have: • Education: A university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a similar field. • Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in leading an accounting department in a large international company, preferably within the regulated financial industry. • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs, along with experience in working with auditors. • Skills: Analytical, quick learner, and well-structured. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to connect details with the overall financial picture. You should also be self-driven, able to handle tight reporting deadlines, and motivated by process improvements and embracing change. • Language: Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
